Sunday Summary 71

Sunday, 30 September 2012

As you can see from the photo we have all just arrived back from a lovely weekend away meeting other bloggers as well as it being the first time that the whole of the Where Are My Knees team were able to meet in person. Along with this weekend meetup we have all been enduring hectic schedules of festivals, holidays and other weekends away, but the good news is we're all back and raring to get back stuck into lots of new posts for Where Are My Knees.  We're also excited to have a lovely, fresh new design and we hope you love it as much as we do.

The other good news is that we've now had an opportunity to consider all of the applications for the final member of the team.  We want to thank everyone who took the time to apply (we had over 100 applications!!) and it was such a hard decision to come to. After much deliberation we are really pleased to announce that our new member is... Chris!

Chris will introduce himself tomorrow but you can go an say hello to him on twitter or read a little bit more about him and his incredible weight loss story in the guest post he did for us this time last year.

New Member Update and New Look

Thursday, 27 September 2012

Things have been rather quiet here on Where Are My Knees recently. Team WAMK have been busy going away on holiday and getting new jobs so we've had a little break.

You may remember that way back in August we announced that we were on the hunt for the final member of the team. All four current members of team WAMK are meeting this weekend to look over the submissions and come to a decision about who we will ask to join the team. We hope to make an announcement about this early next week.

As you may have noticed we also have a fabulous new look courtesy of the lovely Gillian. We felt that a shake up of the team members was a good excuse to freshen up the layout of the blog. What do you think?

Much love
Team WAMK

Sunday Summary 70

Sunday, 9 September 2012

Lauren - For some reason our Sunday Summary last week didn't publish - oops! Here is what would have been my update for this time last week, as without it this weeks update doesn't really make an awful lot of sense...

After reading Sarah's review of Slimfast I decided to give it a go as a bit of a kick-start. It definitely worked and I lost 5.5lbs last week! After tweeting about it I was contacted by Slimfast and offered some more products to review, so I'll be carrying on for another week or so before returning to ProPoints - hopefully in a much better mindset when it comes to eating healthily and making sensible decisions! I had a bit of an indulgent weekend so I'm hoping it didn't undo too much of the good work from last week and that I see another good loss on Friday!

Unfortunately I didn't get another good loss this Friday!! What I didn't count on was a huge increase in social events that involved eating out - work lunches, drinks with colleagues, early birthday celebrations...etc. In the end I decided that trialling Slimfast last week would be a bit redundant - whats the point in being good all day if you know that you're going out for dinner and few drinks in the evening and will struggle to keep track of your calories? I ate as healthily as I could whenever I was out but I will admit to having A LOT to drink over the course of the week which I think is the main reason for a 1.5lb gain. But for not having counted, pointed, tracked or even indeed worried about it too much, I don't think thats such bad going! Sometimes you just have to enjoy life and make the most of spending quality time with friends and family without worrying too much about the scales.

And on that note, we sign off! Gem and Sarah are at Bestival this weekend and no doubt having a wonderful time, and Rosie is in Florida enjoying S'mores Pop Tarts and Jolly Ranchers - along with glorious sunshine!! Lucky things!!

Sunday Summary 68

Sunday, 26 August 2012

Another week, another Sunday Summary!

Rosie - This week has been a particularly difficult one in terms of my ability to keep my level of exercise up and eat healthily. I've been on a course during the day and then in the evening there's been several hours of coursework so although I managed three morning runs I didn't manage to do my exercise DVD or get on the bike at all.  I normally eat my cereal at my desk in the morning so not being at work has meant I've plumped for hot chocolates or Diet Cokes in the morning to stave off hunger rather than my usual bowl of granola - not good! I've managed to increase the distance I run however and all in all I've had a fairly healthy week so I've still managed to lose a lb which I'm pleased about.  I'm off to a festival on Thursday so planning a few good healthy days with lots of exercise before then.

Sarah -  I've really gotten into the swing of Slim-Fast and am actually enjoying it! Now that my body has adjusted to the lower calorie in take I do not feel hungry at all.  I find it really easy to stick to the plan during the week but the weekends are where I usually struggle so I am using myfitnesspal in conjunction to keep track of my calories if I do go a little off plan.  Thankfully this has worked for me and I have lost 2lbs this week.  I am really happy with this as I usually struggle to lose more than a pound a week.

Gemma - Is at Reading festival this weekend.

Lauren - I finally managed to get a gym membership sorted out this week and it has been my saving grace as I've managed to lose 1lb despite eating rubbish all week! I've been really struggling to get my head into the healthy eating game over the last couple of weeks - I think hormones and high-stress levels are the culprit - so thats my focus this week. My best friend is home from Australia for a week and there will be lots of eating out and boozing so I'm going to make healthy choices where I can and try to squeeze in a few runs as I won't be able to get to the gym. Hopefully I won't do too much damage and will be able to start September in a better frame of mind where eating is concerned!

How has your week been? How do you cope with a change of routine? Any tips gratefully received!
